Hi all. I've got some time next week to get contacting councils for street collection licences, and have been thinking about where and when we can collect next year. Ideas I've had so far include: Liverpool - January sales? Chester - Easter-ish? Wrexham? Wigan? Warrington (applied previously, but never heard back) Keswick / Kendal - summer holidays? Wirral somewhere - New Brighton / Birkenhead? Preston? If anyone has any ideas of locations or good dates when there will be a lot of "passing trade" please feel free to add yous suggestions

How about Cheshire Oaks for Wirral?....or there is a Pets at Home at Bromborough...next to ASDA so usually pretty busy. New brighton is always busy in the summer, so that's prob a good idea too..JMO M x

Hi
If you are thinking of Liverpool, I would suggest Williamson Square, as most people who get off the buses pass through, also Liverpool F.C. have their shop there so it is busy.
The person that you need to contact is Yvonne Wilcox, at the council I have her email address, and I know that as it is a charity, they never used to charge.
Also how about a sponsored walk in one of the lovely parks here in Liverpool, once again, I have the contact details of the person you need to contact.
Have you considered having a collection out side Morrisons supermarkets here in Liverpool and southport.
I contacted them once and apparently it is up to the individual managers.
Hope this helps.
Helen

Jan, One of our previous "organisations" used to get any number of collections in Preston. Mainly down Fishergate from Boots at the City centre end to Lush at the Station end. Frances and I once spent a bitterly cold and wet Saturday morning INSIDE Lush collecting lots of money! Our companions at change over time (2-3hours) were not very impressed when we passed them soaking wet and frozen whilst were nice and dry and warm! You missed Manciville off your list, was that on purpose?

As you may have seen, there are a few street collections tentatively arranged (St Helens, Liverpool, Chester and Wigan pending authorisation and permits), and I've a few more (Wrexham, Preston, Keswick, Kendal and Bolton) to sort. I've also e-mailed Cheshire Oaks, so hopefully will get a positive response from there - fingers crossed Keep new venues / suggestions coming And once we've got the big dates sorted, I'll try to crowbar in some local P@H meet and greets too It'll keep me out of mischief, doing all this fundraising.............. ;D
