This is now becoming urgent - this lurcher is at risk of being PTS. He is situated at Sheffield's Stray Dogs Council Pound. He is free to a rescue. His reference number is 7621. "A friendly young adult Lurcher male who is approx 2 years old. He is red in colour and medium in size, currently being fed two times a day to help him gain some weight." He is a lovely red colour - looks a bit like an Ibizan Hound. As stated this is now urgent. He has been there a while and now looking at PTS being the only option. Contact details for the Pound are as follows.. 07817 497995, phone 7days 8am - 9pm. SOL will happily help transport this lad, and even help pay for emergency kenneling if another rescue could take 'responsibility' for this boy.

Need to discuss with Chris, he has a soft spot for lurchers.Rang the pound and he sounds lovely - but it would really depend on Kizzie. We're on the spot so who knows.

That would be great if he could get his forever home. He is beautiful.

Unfortunately Gap can not commit to this boy! With Summer boarders we have NO empty kennels available at our boarding kennels. I do feel the need to point out if anyone does offer this boy a home direct from the pound and anything goes wrong that we are sadly not in a position to offer back up.

Good news - this lurcher has secured a rescue space in cornwall and will be going in 10 days time. Unless he is rehomed before then.. But at least his life is safe

I've spoken to Jenna this morning and she said he should be safe unless they have a lot of dogs brought in by the dog warden after the weekend I'm not that far from the pound so I've given her my number and said if he does become at risk I'm happy to foster him for the remaining days until he can move on to his rescue place. He's very similar to my LL foster dog, Red, who has just found his forever home
