We can do Sunday from about 11.00 onwards. That will give us time to do Mooey in the morning. We'll need to go about 4.00-ish cos he will be pacing the gate to come back in again by then ;D Hx

Last time we collected at P@H Horwich (November 2011) we had 2hr shifts with upto 4 hoomans and no more than 5 houndies at a time and I remember that we filled quite a bit of space round the doorway. With this in mind and bearing in mind the opening hours of the shop can peeps pick their best times on Saturday 10 - 12, 12 - 2, 2 - 4, 4 - 6 and Sunday 11 - 1, 1 - 3, 3 - 5? Frances and I with our lot can do Saturday 2 - 4 and Sunday 11 - 1 (maybe longer depending on response) but please respond )))

Folks, I'm so sorry but Steve and I won't be able to attend at all this weekend, I'm afraid: We've just found out that he's having his angiogram on Thursday afternoon (thank heavens for the cancellation system! ) so we will both be at home recovering - him from his procedure and me from the nervous breakdown ill be having when they wheel him away! PLEASE do not feel that either alone, or collectively, you have to fill the full time undertaking on both days that I'd originally pledged to cover . Please only do what you're comfortable with and were planning to do anyway: I would never ask or expect you to sacrifice your full weekend or stay much longer because you're the only men standing after others have dropped out That said, I'm MASSIVELY grateful to you all for picking up the baton so willingly and just being the wonderful, capable people that you are . Do you have everything you need bucket-wise to go ahead? Do you need me to ring the store to confirm, or is that in hand? THANK YOU for everything, have a lovely weekend, and try not to miss us too much! Jo and Steve xx

It looks like we have enough volunteers to definately run with Sunday - me and Judy with Erin, Noel, Jack and possibly Belle (I presume). We'll be leaving Fran at home with Baloo as he's needing surgery tomorrow to remove a worrying lump on his neck, plus his front paw has suddenly ballooned up, meaning he may also need it x-raying He and Fran will therefore be on strict couch-rest Helen and Ken are also a definate for Sunday only - I'm presuming they will be bringing Merlin and Mrs Diva with them I can supply collecting buckets, leaflets and a table with Halloween goodies on it ;D Others have posted they are also hoping to help out - that'd be fab Just let us know, if you can, when you're able to join us. Chris - are you happy to still go ahead with Saturday afternoon? Have you got buckets, or do you need me to bob over with a couple for you - if you're coming on Sunday morning, you can then leave them with us Jan x

Sunday still OK for us as stated above 11 - 1 (this could be changed to later if necessary)
Saturday - as I have a homecheck to do in Preston at 3.30, I will have to move my slot until earlier say 12 - 2.30. However, I have no buckets but I will have a supply of newly printed bandanas.
I would need the bucket bobber overer to bob the buckets over although I don't know what time this could be done as I may not be the first on duty!!

PS What is Fran's tattoo going to say? "Open the other end" or "This side up"?

It's looking great for the weekends collecting - thanks everyone (looking forward to seeing all the costumes too ;D ;D ) Saturday seems to be the day we're struggling for numbers with, though we could run with a few hours if Chris and Frances are happy to be there from 12ish til 2.30pm Penny (smurf) has also posted earlier that she's free both mornings, so if this is still the case (depending on what time she can do on Saturday), I'll try to bob over at the start of the day with a collecting bucket and possibly stay for an hour or so with Erin and Noel (this will depend on how Baloo is). If I can't bob over, you could use a "standard" bucket, or even modify a dog bowl!!!! - we used a B&Q bucket with a Gap logo taped on it, before buying our existing official ones ;D ;D ;D If folk feel there are too few collectors for Sat, is it just worth doing the Sunday? I'm happy to contact the store tomorrow and let them know our definate plans We'll definately stay all day Sunday (we're free, so may aswell stick around ). If there are a fair few of us, we can split into 2 groups and go either side of the doors - we did that a couple of years ago, and it seemed to work well. You catch shoppers each side of the tills Hope all that makes sense Thanks again folks xxx

Frances is no longer able to do Saturday so I would be on my own unless smurf (or anyone else) is free.
It might be worth considering just Sunday but I am reluctant to abandon a collection.

We'll give it another day, and if numbers are still dubious by tomorrow evening, I'll phone the store to cancel Saturday, if we're all in agreement - the store is open til 8pm, so I can phone just beforehand. I think things are looking that way to be honest. And then on Sunday we can all enjoy a day of dressed up fun and spooky antics ;D

I'm wracking my brains for something to dress the dogs up in. Ken says I look like a witch anyway so I won't need a costume How very dare he Eva trembles as if she seen a ghost at the best of times ;D And poor old Merl just looks like an orange ball of fluff ;D We should be there about 11.00ish on Sunday. Sorry been "lost in action " recently. I'm still ok for Saturday or Sunday. I'm happy to go with what ever is easiest for everyone. The problem we've had in the past with collecting outside is that we completly blocked the walkway when it was raining . Certainly the 1st time collecting there, there wasn't a problem with being outside.

Penny, Since about this time last year collections with hounds have to be inside the shop at Horwich because the retail park manager has a poker up his rear about the footpath outside the shop being blocked or worse still peed on! Nothing to do with P@H its just an outbreak proving that fascism is alive and well and living in a neighbourhood close to you!!
There only appears to be the two of us on Saturday and I have a homecheck for GG booked for the afternoon in Preston so Jan has suggested that we forget Saturday and all gather on Sunday to celebrate the fact that she has persuaded Fran to have a return address tattooed on his skin which means that she can relax a little knowing that someone will send him home. However, I understand that she has told Royal Mail that she is not willing to pay any amounts on delivery due to insufficient stamps or, more likely, no stamps at all.
Unless somebody else indicates a willingness to turn up on Saturday, I suggest that we leave it until Sunday to make an appearance.
Chris
