Update 26th January 2012 Hi All,
I spoke to Birmingham Council today and they were lovely!
Granted they're further away than we had hoped, but . . . the next free dates are as shown in the poll above, so I'm looking to get a (pretty urgent) idea of when might be do-able for most of us, as I believe that availability for collection dates is dwindling fast.
Please vote for all of the dates that you could do, and we'll select the most popular . . . and keep our tootsies crossed that it's not already been bagged!
Thanks-you SO SO much for all being so supportive and encouraging! Biggly will give you all a big gummy kiss - FREE - on the day! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Jo x ORIGINAL POST BELOW
This is just an idea at this stage, but if we could secure a street collection permit for Birmingham city centre would any of you local peeps be up for a bit of tin rattling with us? I know that a few of you have said in the past that you'd love to get involved if something was arranged more locally to you
I know that arranging this sort of thing can be daunting and a bit of a hassle (especially if you don't already have tins and buckets etc.) sooooo . . . I'd be happy to arrange the permit/admin side of things and bring all the 'gubbins' on the day, if any of you fancy a fun day out?
All we'd need you to do is turn up on the day (with maybe a bit of the local knowledge that we lack! ), big smiles, happy hounds . . . and, as it'd be a Gap day out, probably also a kagoule ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Would anyone be interested? I have no idea about dates / the time of year or anything - this is just a 'toe in the water'
Thanks
Jo x

If I know what month it might be in or after I can pm you all my free weekends once i work out what they are ;D ;D Ahhhh, right . . . that's all sorted then! ;D ;D ;D ;D Typically all councils require at least one month's notice, but the further in advance we choose then the better chance we have of bagging the date that we plump for . . . If anyone has a particular idea as to when they think might be a good time to try for, please shout up . All contributions gratefully received!

Hi,
As long as Frankie is fit enough to come or for me to leave her with someone else I will come. I should be able to do most saturdays.
