This is on behalf of a youngster called Danny with Hope Rescue.
He is a petite lurcher type, the size of a whippet.
I fostered Danny for a good two months on behalf of Hope Rescue, but shockingly during that time this boy had no interest for a home and due to starting a new job I had to stop fostering him, as i would not be able to put the consistency into his training that he needs. He then went to a new foster, but had to leave after only a couple of days because he is too keen and interested in the resident cats! So a place without cats is a must.
Danny is now in Kennels and safe, but is looking for an experienced young lurcher/sighthound foster home, or space with a breed specific rescue.
Danny is 10 months old (going on 11) and has been with Hope since he was 7 months old. He is a stunning brindle colour, and a very affectionate character. He loves other dogs and is very playful. He loves to kiss and cuddle with you and never says no to affection. He is intelligent and a quick learner, house trained and knows basic commands. He has brilliant recall too!
However, he is a typical teenager with a strong will and needs someone who understands this and can deal with his sometimes challenging behaviour. He is going to make someone an amazing little dog, but he needs someone who can give him the boundaries and structure he needs to help him know his role and how to behave.
This poor boy just needs someone experienced, as he would not suit a first time dog owner. It is such a shame for him at such a young age to have been without a home for this many months. Surely there is someone out there who can help get him on the right tracks?
If you think you could help, please email:
Nicky (foster co-ordinator) at fosters3@hoperescue.org.uk ,
Kaylie (rescue co-ordinator) at enquiries@hoperescue.org.uk
or
Heather (rehoming manager) at dogs@hoperescue.org.uk .
Thank you
