I'm gutted. I lost a black female greyhound by the name of Lucky today (2nd December) in Withington, Manchester. She is all black apart from a small bit of white on one toe. She is quite unique in that she usually only pricks up one ear, while the other one usually stays down. I would be most grateful if you could bring this to the attention of anyone you know in the South Manchester area. Last sighting near the Red Lion pub on Wilmslow Road in Withington between 3.30 and 4.30 pm on 2nd December 2010. Picture and details of Lucky here: www.doglost.co.uk/poster.php?dogId=26566 Thanks a lot Mark

Hi Mark, so sorry to see that Lucky has gone missing, I just saw her details on Dog Lost and was about to post details here. We do have some members in Manchester who I'm sure will keep their eyes and ears open. I hope Lucky is back home with you very soon Sam x

Mark, I'm originally from Withington and will text everyone I know right now to ask them to be aware that she's out there on her own. I'm away on business all day but we could help you search from about 4.30 onwards.
PM me your number and I'll give you a call, Hun.
Jo x

Thank you everyone. I really appreciate it.
But I'm pleased (and incredibly relieved) to report that Lucky was found this morning at a bus stop about 1.5 miles away! Maybe she was waiting for a 23 bus to the Trafford Centre??
I couldn't think straight last night but the funny thing was, this morning I tried to logically work out where she would have gone after the last sighting of her. She could have gone left or right at the end of this particular road and last night we concentrated on right because there are lots of takeaways that way and she would be hungry.
However, this morning I thought no, she would have stayed on the pavement instead of crossing the road and would have turned left.
So when I got the call to say she had been taken into a nearby school, I was literally sat in my car right outside it!! I was just about to poster that very area!
A lady called Siobhan found her about 9.30am and took her into the school. They called the dog warden and Siobhan waited 2 hours with Lucky until the warden arrived. The warden then called me because I'd left my details with them. Unfortunately, Siobhan left when the dog warden arrived but I have got her phone number to thank her.
There are still some good people in the world!
Anyway, all's well that ends well.
Mark

LOL @ "mean streets of West Didsbury"! I'D be happy to sleep rough there, let alone the dogs!!! It's da ghetto, Jo Seriously, thanks for your offer of help. Hope you got my voicemail earlier. I had a meeting with work that I was supposed to attend last night. When I rang up the boss to say I didn't want to go because I had to look for Lucky, she reluctantly said OK but that she would have to make up a story to tell the people I was meeting because they wouldn't be sympathetic if she told them the truth! Heartless b**tards! She told them I had 'personal issues' that had come up suddenly
