Apparantly, Belle has now had her operation and is in splints, bless her little heart, although further surgery may be necessary. I know the Mayflower are appealing for a home for Belle or someone to foster her while she recovers. I only wish that I were nearer but know that Devon is too far away. Wishing this little girl all the luck in the world.

ive seen this sort of deformity before but not so far advanced and at 5 months it might be to late to do anything other than operate.ive seen it many times in large fast growing breeds like dobermanns.they need the legs banadaging up to support them sometimes splints are used then give mega doses of a good multivitamin supplement one that has large doses of calcium something like sa37 we used to use.within a couple of weeks they start to straighten up then the splints and bandages can be removed but keep on with the large doses of calcium

Hi everyone, just to let you wonderful people know if you didn't already, Belle the greyhound X has come to her forever home. We picked her up on Sat 18 Sept and the little minx is settling in well with her new greyhound friends Bouncer, Honey and Sky. She is going to have a charmed and happy life at a home in the countryside oozing with love, fun and affection. Thank you to everyone for having made it possible for Belle to have been saved, Jan. p.s. her legs are magnificent now!

Thanks Jacqui. Mayflower Sanctuary have agreed to always use Bell's kennel for a greyhound in need of a home. It will be called something like Belle's Greyhound Place or Home or Sanctuary or something like that. This is ace news for all greyhound lovers. Before we found Belle we were looking for another greyhound and so this is why Belle's vacated space will always be dedicated to the most wonderful dogs ever as she was saved first. Jan

Hello! I am Jan's daughter, Léa. I have many, many photos on my Facebook, so all you need to do is search 'Léa Gérard' in the search bar, then click photos. There should be an album called 'Belle'. I have also taken over 'Belle's Diary' on Facebook where every day I post an update on her, so feel free to follow her there. Thank you all so much for your efforts; it's your help that has got her this far. She's laid down by my feet as I type this. Thanks again. ~ Léa

Hi Belle's Mum here, if you are not on facebook (like me) I will get Léa to put some pics here. Belle has been helping me garden today well actually she ran off with a brush and ate some grass cuttings! Settling in brilliantly, she is gorgeous.

Hey again. Jan's daughter here. I have tried for the last hour to get the pictures on here. I go to 'insert picture', which brings up a pair of image tags. It's not the type of HTML I know, so I don't know how to do it. I have checked help, but there is no topic that I can find explaining how to do it. I'm sorry.
