I think that's really interesting Diane - they appear to give out a lot of prizes to be used by charities for auction/competition prizes which could certainly generate some funds ;D
I would think an application should come from one of the trustees? what does anyone else think?

Application submitted, so fingers crossed!! I was wondering if others could have a look on their local teams websites to see if they make donations to Charity and whether it has to be a local Charity or could be a national one? I said Gap was founded and based in Stoke when i applied to Stoke City FC, but i could say the Gap HQ are in London and could apply to London teams. I don't mind doing more applications if you tell me where to (i need a bit of help 'cos i don' it know anything about football teams or where they are or wot they're called ) Diane x

Di do you know how many football teams there are?! The English league has four full-time professional leagues: Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two then the Scottish league also has a Premiership and League. The BBC sport website is a great resource: news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/default.stmOn the left hand column you will see the leagues, click on those and then the next page will show the current table for that league with links to each of the individual teams. How's that to get you started ;D ;D

I know keith humphreys who is on th board and also an ex stoke player who still is in contact with the club. I teach their children acting. If ithe charities for the month are not drawn out of the hat, but chosen on merit - for want of a better word, I will see if I can get them to put our case forward.

Sainsburys put out forms for people to submit a charity for thier annual sponsorship, (they don't appear to notice multiple applications), then invite the four highest bidders to make a live presentation for their staff to make a decision. I think it happens around September.
