I've noticed that Biggly has got a couple of little lumps and bumps. I can't photograph them as there's really nothing to see, but one is on the side of his face and one is on his shoulder. To touch they feel like a 'blind pimple' would on a human: Just really little, hard-ish lumps. They don't seem red, painful or angry. I think he's probably prone to getting this type of thing as he's already got a skin-tag on his side, and I think that he had a lump removed from his head/ear when Gap first rescued him (does anybody who knew him at the time remember which and what it was?). I know our vet would think I was fruit-loop if we consulted him at this stage, just like the time I thought Biggly had a melanoma on his tummy . . . and it was actually a nipple! Would you be worried? Jo x

lance had a little lumpish thing on his thigh, almost kind of scaley, tiny really - 3-5mm across at the most and hard. I was a little concerned, but just decided to do what I would with a mole - keep checking it hadnt changed shape or size etc. Yesterday while i was stroking him it just came off, was almost like a scab, just a little round hard thing. It didnt cause him any discomfort while it was on, there is a little bald patch where it was that i will keep an eye on, but unless someone is about to post that this is a major deal ( ) I have not let myself get worried!

When we first had Archie he had a couple of the same lumps that Claire describes. When we were at the vet for something else, we asked him to take a look. He said it probably wasn't anything to worry about, but to keep an eye on them. They too just disappeared in time, and he hasn't had any for ages now.

Sounds like cysts, ours have them and they're no prob, I just keep an eye on them, however Gracie had one on her back this summer that did hurt her, vet squeezed it and it popped like a spot, it filled up again, but no head on it and it hurt her if you touched it so had it removed and sent off, it was benign. Vet said there are a few cases where they can be cancerous but in most cases are benign and it's best just to keep an eye on them. River had something on the back of his neck, just a small skin coloured bump for ages, then it suddenly grew in days and got like a zig zag thread vein on it, had it removed very quickly and it was cancer but got it all and no further problem. It just suddenly looked nasty. Vet did say that some dogs are just prone to cysts. to him.

I am sure it's nothing to worry about but as with all lumps, I think I would run it past the vet.....better to be told it's nothing than kick yourself if you left it.
I took Mim for a tiny lump on her leg and had it biopsied and it did have a mast cell......nothing to worry about but it was worth knowing for the future.
