Oldies ClubThe Oldies Club helps older dogs find forever homes. Homes and volunteers needed across the UK . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Molly is an elderly greyhound who is in desperate need of either a permanent home or foster home, so she is able to spend her twilight years in the comfort of a warm, loving environment.
At eleven and a half years old, she is currently living in GRW kennels as her owners have emigrated and sadly were unable to take her with them.
Molly is a lovely girl with a very sweet nature. She is a little doddery on her back legs due to a touch of arthritis, which is only to be expected due to her age, but she manages to get around okay, and is still quite capable of jumping in and out of the back of a car when she needs to.
Molly will only be able to go on short walks throughout the day as her galloping days on the beach are unfortunately in the past, due to her stiffness.
Molly is also slightly deaf, again due to her old age but this doesn’t appear to hinder her in any way.
GRW are very concerned that because Molly has spent the last 6 years in a home with her previous owner, a kennel environment is not something we would wish for her, especially now that winter is on its way as she could suffer some discomfort due to the cold weather and her arthritis.
Is there anybody out there that would consider giving Molly a better life in her twilight years?
If you can help, please phone Jo Clarke on 01873 831849 or email greyhoundrescue_wales@yahoo.co.uk .

Hi,
I'm currently wanting to foster - I need a homecheck first. Ideally I was looking for a girl as I have 2 male lurchers. If nobody else wants to foster Molly or ideally give her a home, I'd be available for fostering her, if somebody thinks I'm suitable!
Thanks.

Why don't you give the rescue a call and talk it over with them to see if she'd suit your home?

OK - will do! She sounds lovely - I love older hounds - my own rescue lurcher is at least 11 now and he just wants lots of cuddles.

Looks like Molly might have some interest in terms of a permanent home - fingers crossed - but they won't know until after the weekend. I've given them my details and they'll let me know if she's still in need of fostering or not after that.
