Picked up Freddie from a rescue based in Wigan yesterday..he's about 18 months - 2 yrs, smooth coated Brindle with a black mask. He looks smaller than he is (IYKWIM) as he's very slender and not very long backed (Whippet x?), but he is actually 24.5 ins at the shoulder.
Freddie's is a sad story.......he was owned by a chap who has started having fits quite badly and was advised not to walk Freddie in case he fitted whilst out with him, so he decided to rehome him (reluctantly) for Freddie's own good. The day he was to give him up (a few weeks ago) he took him for a final walk before handing him over, and poor Freddie was attacked by 2 Rottweilers, needing a lot of stitches He's all healed up now, although he still has one bald-ish side and has come to us to find a new home. But, it looks like we need a foster home for Freddie coz Dougie (our Rottie x) really doesn't like him and keeps having a go at him, so currently house kennels are being used to keep them apart. Maybe Freddie's got a face which Rotties just don't like?
He was OK last night, no crying or anything and is settling in slowly - bit pushy with the ladies which is getting him told off, but we'll soon sort that !!! He's met the cats and seems intrigued, but hasn't attempted to chase them or anything.
He's clean in the house btw, he's very friendly, loves people and children, is OK with other dogs (but a touch nervous at first- understandably!) and likes to play. He's going to be neutered and vax'd whilst he's with me - as we have no papers for him.....So.......can anyone offer a temporary foster home for this little lad after he's been neutered and had his first vacc's? Preferably not too far away from me, coz I'll have to take him back to the vet to get his 2nd vaccs in a fortnight.
