It's coming up on six months since we adopted Ted now. What can I say? We went from the most placid, biddable, quiet lurcher, the perfect first dog (who broke our hearts when he died) to a great bungling, bumbling loony with a love of life I've never seen equalled. He quite literally loses his marbles some mornings, gambolling like a new lamb. I've never come across such an inherently happy animal of any species. He can find play in anything and anyone, and is an absolute laugh a minute. Karen and Colin had done a great job on him in foster, and he came to us perfectly house trained and well adjusted. Initial settling was relatively straight forward for Ted, for me it was another matter. Without going in to details, I had not realised how deeply the loss of Ali had affected me, and bonding with and accepting Ted was rather a difficult process (no reflection on Ted himself I hasten to point out). Eventually we got through it, and I wouldn't swap him for any dog in the world. Everyone in the family (even the non-dog types) think he is the loveliest dog they have ever met, and Ted really knows how to turn on the charm. He is known by name by all the regulars on the common who are now used to his enthusiastic play-charges of their dogs and are really helping us to socialise him further. Big thanks to Lisa and all the volunteers for Ted, and the fun he brings us every day. Some pics.
